The job of a designer is by outsiders often seen as someone who makes things pretty. As a design student I of course know designers do much more than that. This does not mean however, that making products look ‘pretty’ is not something I should not neglect. How to make high-fidelity prototypes with a pleasing aesthetic however, is a thing on its own and requires practice to get right.
Through the process of making prototypes, models and sketches every week, this course taught me new skills on perfecting the shape and model of my prototypes. Moreover, it improved my eye for perfection and provided me with a new insight in the shapes of everyday products around us.
