Custom tools make custom photos

Low light photography is known to be very difficult. The principle of taking a picture with a camera is based upon a phenomenon called “light”. Since the camera sensors registers every light particle and turns it into an image, less light means worse pictures. So to still capture a picture of the model we need light. Of course we want to focus on her and not on the surroundings so a very aimed beacon of light is preferred.

To still make the picture feel somehow natural a prop is required to get the light source close to the object but not stand out too much in frame. With the additional benefit of an artistic effect I choose to use a umbrella and placed a strip of LEDs inside it that could be battery powered. A trip through the nearest park created the perfect atmosphere and this photoshoot was born.
